Why Do Muslims Fast In The Month Of Ramadan?

Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan because it is an injunction of the Almighty God as prescribed in the Holy Qur’an…

“O ye who believe, Fasting is prescribed for

you as it was prescribed to those before

you so that you may attain PIETY”

– Qur’an chapter 2 verse 183

Fasting is important during Ramadan as it allows Muslim to devote themselves to their faith, get closer to Allah and learn patience and compassion. It’s about nourishing your soul, rather than only focusing on your physical body.

As you can see in the verse that commands Muslims to fast during the month of Ramadan, the purpose is to attain God’s consciousness much more than before…Hence dear brethren, see to it that you do not waste this beautiful month on irrelevances; guard your hearts, guard your deeds and make sure that you maximise the benefits of this beautiful month….and come out of it ‘ A BETTER YOU!’

Ramadan Mubarak!!!
