My first encounter with Hajia Salmah Adetutu… I just couldn’t but admire her, not because of her physical beauty but because of the way she leads her day to day activities. She is a goal getter and she tries to carry everyone who cares along with her. She is a definition of selflessness, I see her as one who wishes everyone progress and will be willing to give her support if you are also willing. She’s very observant and most times will not wait for one to ask before she helps. She not only helps financially and materially, she also give valuable advice and follow-up.

One thing I absolutely love about her is her refreshing honesty about past pain and her refusal to play the blame game. I’m honored that she asked me to write this Foreword and welcome this opportunity to share my Experience with her and her Passion.

I will like to begin this short piece on Adetutu with a beautiful quote from Umar ibn al-khattab radi -Allhau -anhu about relationship: “Richness isn’t found in wealth, as wealth can diminish. Nor is it found in beauty, for beauty fades with age. It’s found in good character and kind hearts. So treat people in such a way and live among them in such a manner that when you die, they make du’a for you, and when you’re alive, they benefit from you and they thank Allah the Most High for having you in their life.”
As an avid reader of books, she probably might have come across the above quote and adopted it as her mantra. She is an angelic being who is synonymous with kindness. Distinct and invaluable. A selfless being whose selflessness is infectious. Her kindness is worthy of emulation.
Passionate about adding values. Adetutu’s dogged determination to add value is indomitable and this portrays her as an enigma to some people. She is an enhancer per excellence if am permitted to put it that way. Numerous are the testimonies that she touches people’s lives positively.
She is endowed with the gift of eloquence. A public speaker with a difference. A voracious reader who is pragmatic. She is a rare gem who makes sacrifices without expectations. Her generosity is exceptional.

I can go on and on writing about Ms Salmah, Ms Salmah is no longer my boss, she’s my friend, my confidant, my sister and a mother. She employed me when I had little qualification and built me to become the woman I am today. Ms Salmah mastered well the act of combining business with leadership. I’ve worked with people and most of the time after resigning, we don’t keep in contact again, and this doesn’t apply to Ms Salmah. I call Ms Salmah when I encounter life’s standstill and things are just not making sense anymore. We fought a lot of time, because it is difficult being stretched as human beings, so when she stretches me to reach higher than where I think I can reach, she uses the hard way, however, the most important thing is that I learnt. Every day I bless God for giving her to me as a gift. Mama, I don’t know how you do it as a single mum breaking boundaries and still having time for your family, but I know someday, I’ll make you proud and you’ll smile knowing you contributed to the strong woman I’ll become.
