Doing right things or doing things right – which helps you grow?

Many times, we do things quickly because we lack time. Yet, it is when we lack time that we must take our time. Yes!

How many times have we done things over just because we did not do them right the first time? It’s like the rescue team answering to a drowning person in the ocean. They quickly leave the bay. Once by the drowning person, they realise that, in their rush, they left on land the only person qualified to do a deep-sea rescue…..the master diver.

In our rush to get a job, we jump on the first offer that does not resonate with our personality type and dream and then either get stuck or start the job search all over again if we have the strenght; We rush to marry because everyone around us expects us to or are doing same only to realize that we married a destiny destroyer; We rush to acquire the material stuffs of life only to realize that they still do not make us happy and fulfilled….So what do we do?

Which choice is more appealing? Spending our entire lives doing things over or a few extra time doing things right?

A martial arts student went to his teacher and said earnestly, “I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it?” The teacher’s reply was casual, “Ten years”. Impatiently, the student answered, “But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice everyday, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?” The teacher thought for a moment, “20 years”.

You know what that means? Do things right and achieve greatness! Do right things alone and keep repeating the mistake.

“People forget how fast you did a job, but they remember how well you did it!”
– Howard W. Newton

If we don’t have the time to do it right, we must have time to do it over.

So today, resolve to always do things right. Write it down, intentionally and consciously go for it.

Be happy. TGIF!

Just got these photos yesterday of a panel session of the Badrudin society boot camp that I partook in earlier in the year I think. Enjoy
